The damage scope for patients suffering from chronic pain is vast. The first victims of these ripples are their spouses. No one talks of those taking care of the patients: those spouses who fell in love with this one person, and found themselves married to another, putting themselves in last place at home, saying goodbye to their personal dreams, and planning their entire time and future around their loved one’s illness.
